Beliefs that Shape Our Community

There is ONE God (the Eternal Godhead) existing in THREE persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit; distinguishable but indivisible, having the same nature, attributes, and perfections. (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).

The Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of men, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, 100% God and 100% man while on earth lived a perfect and sinless life and satisfied the penalty for all sins by his death on the cross, providing a way for man to be reconciled to God. He physically rose from the grave, was seen by many, and eternally sits at the right hand of God. (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25; 1 John 5:20; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4).

The Holy Spirit is the person of the Godhead who, in this present age, convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; who regenerates and baptizes into the Body of Christ those who believe; and who indwells and seals them unto the day of redemption. The Holy Spirit is the Divine teacher who guides Believers into all truth. The Holy Spirit imparts to Believers spiritual gifts for the purpose of maturing Believers, ministry and building up the Church. (John 14:16-17; John 16:8-11; Ephesians 1:13-14).

We believe in the Spirit-filled life, as evidenced by the gifts of the Spirit, a life separate from the world, perfecting holiness in the fear of God as an expression of Christian faith as manifested in the Early Church. (Ephesians 5:18; 1 Corinthians 6:14; 7:1).

The whole Bible, the accepted canon of the Scriptures, was written by holy men of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit. It is uniquely authoritative and free from error of any sort in all matters with which they deal, including scientific and historical as well as moral and theological. It is the final authority and sufficient for all faith of life. (2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Corinthians 2:13).

We believe in the full historicity and perspicuity of the Biblical record of primeval history, including the literal 7 days of creation, the existence of Adam and Eve as the progenitors of all people, the literal fall and resultant divine curse on the creation, the worldwide cataclysmic deluge, and the origin of nations and languages at the tower of Babel (Genesis 1-11). The integrity of the early church fathers gives us a template to follow. (Genesis 1:1; Exodus 20:11; Hebrew 11:3; II Peter 3:5).

Satan is a being created by God, fallen, and opposed to all that is holy, and is ultimately destined for eternal separation from God and punishment. (Matthew 25:41; Isaiah 14:12-15; Revelation 20:10).

Man was created in God’s image and to live in fellowship with God. When Adam sinned, all mankind and all of God’s creation entered into a fallen state, separated from God and enslaved to sin. Man’s relationship with God can only be restored by Grace, through Faith in the provision God provided through Christ’s death and resurrection. (Genesis 1:27, 2:7. 3:1-6; Romans 3:10-19).

We believe Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day, and personally appeared to His disciples. Christ’s death on the cross and resurrection from the dead is the only provision provided by God for Man to be pardoned from the penalty of Sin. (1 Corinthians 15:14; John 3:16; Romans 4:25, 6:23; I Peter 3:18)

We believe in the bodily ascension of Jesus to Heaven, His exaltation, and His personal, literal, and bodily coming again the second time for the Church. (John 14:2-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

We believe in the salvation of sinners by grace, through repentance and faith in the perfect and sufficient work of the cross of Calvary by which we obtain remission of sins. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:12, 22; Romans 3:23-24, 5:11)

Every person who has experienced a physical death will experience a resurrection from the dead. Those who have placed their trust in Christ will enter into eternal fellowship and joy in the presence of God while those who have rejected God’s provision (Jesus Christ) will enter into eternal punishment and separation from God. (Mark 9:43-58; 2 Thessalonians 1:9; Revelation 20:10-15)

We recognize the Church's commissions of Baptism by water, Baptism of the Holy Spirit, Healing of body, soul, and spirit, and Communion as practiced in the early church.

  • Baptism by water: (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:37-39)
  • Baptism of the Holy Spirit: (Acts 2:1-4, 8:14-17, 19:1-6)
  • Healing of body, soul, and spirit: (Acts 4:30; 1 Corinthians 12:9; James 5:14)
  • Communion: (1 Corinthians 11:28-32)

We believe marriage emanates from the nature of the Triune God and has been revealed to us in the person, work, and teaching of Jesus Christ our Lord as revealed in the Christian Scriptures (Genesis 1:27-28; Ephesians 5:21-33). God has decreed and defined marriage to be the intimate and eternal covenant union between Christ and His bride, the Church (2 Corinthians 11:2; Revelation 19:6-9; 21:1-9; 22:14-17).

Therefore, according to the Christian Scriptures, human marriage is also a divine decree in the pattern of Christ and is defined solely as the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant fidelity for a lifetime (Genesis 2:21-25; Psalm 45; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 7:2; I Corinthians 7:39; I Timothy 3:2, 12; 5:9; Titus 1:6).

We believe any form of sexual immorality or any attempt to change one’s gender or identity in disagreement with one’s genetically defined gender, is sinful and offensive to God (Genesis 1:27; 2:18-25; Leviticus 18:22-23; Job 31:1; Matthew 5:27–28; Romans 1:24-28; I Corinthians 5:1-2; 6:9-11; Galatians 5:19–21; Ephesians 5:3-7; Colossians 3:5-7; I Timothy 1:5-11; Hebrews 13:4; Jude 7; Revelation 21:8; 22:14-15).
